Charlotte- 6 Months!

I waited until after Charlotte's 6 month appointment so that I could have her weight and height and then I wanted to upload the real camera pics, but that never seems to happen. So here is a quick post with phone pics-

Weight- 14.14lbs (25%).
Height- 24 1/2 inches (however, the doctor thought this wasn't a very accurate measure because it is difficult to get them stretched out correctly on the table. If it is accurate, our little girl is in the very small percentile.)

Diaper/clothes size- Size 2. 3-6 month clothes and 6 month

Food- Still nursing every 3-4 hours mostly during the day. As of 5.5 months, Charlotte also enjoys some baby oatmeal mixed with fruits 2-3 times a day. Adding the solids really seemed to help satisfy her throughout the day. She really loves the oatmeal that tastes so incredibly bland to me.

Sleeping- one of her best qualities- Charlotte typically goes down without a fight around 7 and then before I go to sleep I wake her up for the "dream feed."
During this she hardly wakes up and then just goes right back into the bed and sleeps anywhere from 6:45-7:30am.

Charlotte is in one of my favorite phases. I remember when her big brother was like this and it's so much fun to always see a smile. She loves to smile at everyone, strangers and the camera included. She started sitting up on her own right before she turned 6 months, which was right on cue with Trevor. While I'm comparing the two, (I know you're not supposed too, but I think that's impossible) it has been really interesting to see some of the differences. Trevor was/is plagued by such awful, almost constant diaper rash and other dry skin issues, whereas Charlotte's skin has never had an issue. However, Charlotte is still dealing with bad reflux. Her spit up is still happening, but more troublesome is her constant coughing when she lies flat on her back. She sounds miserable and still spends some entire nights inclined on her nap nanny.

But, as you can probably see from the pictures below, Charlotte appears far from miserable throughout the day! Love my sweet little girl!

Baseball Season

We've been lucky enough to have a few friends with available box seats this year and so far Trevor has had a ball and even been given a ball at each game. It's definitely been one of my favorite family events.

Strawberries

Today we visited a strawberry patch. We left with some delicious fresh berries, but that was about the highlight of the activity. Neither of the kids were into it. Trevor refused to leave his truck in the car so, I told him it could be a basket for the berries. However, the dump truck part didn't hold onto them too well. Charlotte didn't seem to appreciate all the bending over while she sat against me so she screamed mostly. Trevor ate probably 33 strawberries and proceeded to get sick in the middle of the patch. But, after a quick change of clothes, he was right back at eating more. So, I tried to fill my basket as quickly as possible while Charlotte screamed and Trevor found more strawberries to eat and a nice muddy puddle to jump in and roll his truck in. I finally gave up with a basket about half full. In conclusion, we left with some delicious berries.

Then to reward the kids for all their good behavior, we took them to the park to release some more energy!

Peace

Ahhh, finally some peace and quiet around here:). Today is one of the first days, Trevor and Charlotte have both gone to sleep in their cribs for afternoon naps at the same time! Trevor's one nap a day is pretty set time wise, but little Charlotte tends to take numerous cat naps a few times a day in a few different places (car seat, ergo, swing, my arms). I haven't stressed naps in the crib so far because poor thing is constantly being waken up or on the move when she would like to be sleeping. I remember when I would completely rearrange my schedule if Trevor was asleep so that I wouldn't "disturb" him. Maybe that's why the second children are more flexible:).

But, we've been in a good rhythm here the last couple of weeks. Trevor is wide open all morning, but then is worn out after lunch and the majority of the afternoon is devoted to nap and chill time until Alec gets home. We fill most mornings with the gym, visiting grandparents, walks, parks, natural science center, and the children's museum. I typically save my errands for Charlotte and I to run the two mornings that Trevor goes to school.

We also visited Charlotte- Granny and Uncle Beau. Granny did a lot of babysitting for us while Alec and I had some alone time. We also went to the zoo and saw the dinosaur exhibit which Trevor loved! And speaking of Trevor, we have not started any speech therapy yet, but he is learning a lot of new words. I have been hearing on average a new word a day which is big time for him:).

Tomorrow is Charlotte's 6 month bday so she'll get a post devoted to her sweet, happy self very soon!
